We hope to create a community that fosters a safe space for Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans, but is welcome to all. SACNAS hopes to increase representation of these minority groups and also increase access to professional development resources and career development opportunities.
A group of UConn students is interested in starting a Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) chapter here at UConn. We are hosting an informational networking SACNAS event at the end of the month on September 30th 1-2pm in the Puerto Rican Latin American Cultural Center (PRLACC) Program Room. At this event, we will explain the benefits of being a SACNAS member and some of the resources we hope to offer once we are up and running.
